FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: FOLIO LITERARY MANAGEMENT LAUNCHES FOLIO JR., A DIVISION DEVOTED TO CHILDREN'S AND YOUNG ADULT PROPERTIES
Folio Literary Management, LLC. assertively expands its footprint into the field of children's and young adult publishing. Marcy Posner, Emily van Beek, and Molly Jaffa have joined to launch "Folio Jr."--a list devoted to middle grade fiction, young adult fiction, and selective children's picture books.
Marcy Posner continues to work with her clients, including Newbery Honor winner Jacqueline Kelly and Jan Bozarth, author of The Fairy Godmother Academy series. Marcy was most recently agent and foreign rights director at Sterling Lord Literistic. "Folio is the perfect place to launch this new initiative. It is a young, dynamic organization with a wonderful entrepreneurial spirit."
Emily van Beek is and always has been singularly focused on publishing for young and teen readers. "I am beyond thrilled to be a part of such an innovative, esteemed group where, together with my colleagues, I know we can provide Folio Jr. authors with 360 degrees of impeccable care!" Emily was an editor at Hyperion Books for Children and was most recently an agent and the rights director at Pippin Properties, Inc., where she represented Kathi Appelt's Newbery Honor-winning, The Underneath, Jandy Nelson's internationally-acclaimed The Sky Is Everywhere, and Jenny Han's The Summer I Turned Pretty, among others.
Molly Jaffa, who has been working with Folio selling subsidiary rights since 2008, will now be aggressively pursuing middle grade and YA fiction. "I'm really looking forward to building my list and finding some great, fresh young voices," Jaffa said.
"We're delighted to be able to offer our clients more avenues to sell their books -- and we're excited by what the future will bring," says Paige Wheeler, one of the founding partners of the agency.
Folio Literary Management, LLC., was founded in February 2006 by Scott Hoffman, Jeff Kleinman, and Paige Wheeler. The agency represents many bestselling and award-winning authors of both fiction and non-fiction in the United States and internationally.
